Inclusion Community decided to award scholarships to two local organization in the total of $2,400 this month. The scholarships will be awarded to youth in need located in the Cornelius/Davidson area.
One youth will be selected and awarded a YMCA Summer Camp Scholarship in the amount of $1,750. This scholarship will provide one in-need child the opportunity to attend the YMCA Summer Camp for the duration of the summer (10 weeks). Lake Norman YMCA creates a safe place where kids can be themselves, cultivate friendships and learn from positive role models. This camp aligns with Inclusion Community’s mission of creating a welcoming environment for all and giving back to the community.
Another young adult will be selected and awarded a $650 Young Elites scholarship for the year. Young Elites supports high school students through providing corporate leadership training and development. Their mission is, “To provide expert programming for high school girls to inspire their intellectual, physical, and social growth while preparing them for a lifestyle of leadership.”
Inclusion Community is a Progressive Christian church located in the heart of Cornelius. Established 8 years ago from The United Methodist Church and lead by Rev. Dr. Susan Heafner-Heun. Inclusion Community embraces the freedom to explore the mystery of a loving God and welcomes questions and conversations about faith.
